The third leg of the 3-river route leads you from Haldern initially to Empel Rees , the oldest town in the Lower Rhine . Here you can find the Rhine promenade to stroll and Sculpture Park and the Planet to explore. Along the Old Rhine Reeser and past Reeser sea is just a branch of the 3-river route , which leads you to the castle Belinghoven in Haffen . Then drive along the Rhine embankment in the traditional village of Wesel Schiffer Bislich. Past the Diersfordt Castle and the Auesee as a popular destination for bathing fans, the path leads you to the center of Wesel. If desired, you can interrupt your tour on the 3-river route for various activities: cultural-historical with a visit to the citadel and the Prussian Museum or culinary on the Kornmarkt, the gastronomic and pub mile. From Wesel it goes in a southerly direction over the Lippe and the Wesel-Datteln-Kanal past Spellen and Ork with beautiful views along the Rhine. The destination of the stage is the Götterswickerhamm belonging to Voerde with its Rhine promenade and excursion restaurants.

Author’s recommendation

Every year , usually in early August , there is in Haldern the " Haldern Pop " instead - an open- air festival for indie music , singer- songwriter and folk-rock . The whole village is then dedicated to music . Always different , but always familiar and charming. The Haldern Pop Festival in 2011 was awarded the Best Small European Festival .
