The Wesel-Datteln Canal is the focus of this hike in the northern Ruhr region. This 60 km long waterway connects the Rhine near Wesel with the Dortmund-Ems Canal near Datteln and runs mainly parallel to the river Lippe. We follow the canal from Schermbeck back to Dorsten.
