Start für diese Wanderung ist auf dem Parkplatz an der Hans-Efing-Sporthalle an der Gneisenaustraße. Von dort geht es am Rotbach entlang durch den Wohnungswald bis zum Rhein. Auf dem Rheindeich führt die Route zur Emschermündung und dort geht es dann wieder nach Eppinghoven zurück zum Parkplatz.
